It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and son Martin "Marty" Pinnock, 67, a lifelong resident of Stanley, NB. Marty peacefully passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, February 28, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Marty was born on April 25, 1957 in Stanley and it was there that he happily lived his life of great personal rewards, alongside many friends, and illustrated with memories too numerous and vivid to share.
If it had wheels, Marty could drive it. It is with that spirit and a special connection with young people that he faithfully served the Stanley area as a bus driver for 42 years. His spotless driving record also allowed him to venture into driver training. In that role he shared his knowledge and experience to a generation of drivers. It was a position that he took a lot of pride in.
Marty also owned and curated some of the most beautiful farmland in the area from his home on the Limekiln Rd. There he successfully ran a strawberry U-Pick for many years and also earned a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable growers of cultivated Christmas trees in the province. As busy as Marty was, he still managed to find time to coach hockey, volunteer at the Nashwaak Villa and jam with friends on the guitar. Snowmobiling and four-wheeling were his passions and he spent many hours enjoying the countryside he so loved.
Marty is survived by the love of his life of 45 years, his wife, Bev; their son, Chris (Leanne); and his grandsons, Chase (Amy) and Jaxen (Debra) who he was infinitely proud of. Marty is also survived by his mother Doris, who is 101 years old and resides at the Nashwaak Villa. Marty’s dutiful care for his mother allowed her to live in her own home until she was well into her 90’s.
Marty is also survived by three brothers, Jimmy of Stanley (Lorna), Michael of Grande Prairie (Joy) and Rob of Fredericton (Krista). He was predeceased by his father, George Pinnock and his brother, Robin.
Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 12 - 2 pm followed immediately by a Celebration of Life at 2 pm with Rev. Chris Walker officiating.
