It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Elaine Reeves (nee Hynes), age 75, occurred on February 23, 2025 at home. Wife of the late Ronald Reeves, of Fredericton, NB (both formally of Charlottetown, PEI).

After raising her family, Elaine became a teacher, of Home Economics, Math, and English, at Nashwaaksis Junior High and then at George St. Middle School. Her quick wit and youthful energy are what her students fondly remember. Elaine loved to crochet, sew and make quilts, with projects laid out on every surface of her home. With a twinkle in her eye that dates back through the years in photos, Elaine loved a good joke and relished sharing a hearty laugh with others. She loved spending time with her sisters in PEI, bragging about her grandchildren, and tending her immaculate gardens. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

Lovingly remembered by her children, Jennifer Reeves (Scott Peth) of Denver, CO, Mike Reeves (Joleen Hind) of Ottawa, and Malcolm Reeves (Val) of Fredericton; and her grandchildren, Evan and Eric Peth, Kai, Tay, Robyn and Julia Reeves.

Elaine is also fondly remembered by her sister, Lynn Gorveatt (Dale-deceased); sisters-in-law, Jane Smith (Wayne) and Mary Reeves; She is also survived by brother, Donald Hynes (Marylou); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her adoring husband of 54 years, Ron; parents, Mary and Clifford Hynes; siblings, Roberta Lannigan (Neil), Kenny Hynes (Carole), Shawna Carmody, and Clifford Hynes.
 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 12 – 2:30 pm and a Memorial Service at 2:30 pm with a reception to follow.
