The passing of Lois Pauline Whitlock of Fredericton, NB, partner of 24 years to Leon Brideau, occurred on February 22, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on December 23, 1953 in Harvey, NB, she was the daughter of the late Guida (Stairs) and Robert Chapman. 

Lois worked as a homecare and childcare worker. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends and was very active with her Penniac community; helping wherever she could. Lois could always be found offering her help to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed picking fiddleheads and berries, and absolutely loved Christmas

 

Lois is survived by daughters, Jennifer Merrithew (Brian) of McLeod Hill, and April Whitlock (Gene Hachey) of Penniac; step-son, Duane Brideau (Myrna) of Lincoln; grandchildren, Josee Brideau, Adam Merrithew, Dustin Allen, and Jaden Merrithew; sister, Barb Chapman; sister, Elizabeth Chapman; brother, Ronald Chapman (Leona); brother, Curtis Chapman (the late Linda); sister, Dorothy Miller (Mark); sister, Kathy Chapman; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by parents, Guida and Robert; brothers, James Chapman (Barb) and Eugene Chapman.

 

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Penniac Rec Center, 14 Harry Allen Rd, Penniac on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5 - 8 PM.  Interment will take place in Penniac United Church Cemetery, Penniac at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to A Friendly Voice, the Lung Association, or the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
