Norman (Norm) Hachey of Fredericton, NB, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at York Care Facility in Fredericton.
Norman was born January 13th, 1948, and was the son of the late Edgar and Therese Hachey (Caissie). Besides his parents he was predeceased by his siblings, Maria Lecouter and Roger Hachey (Aggie).
Norman is survived by his beautiful loving wife of 53 years, Lorna Hachey; children, Tammie (Stacey) Hachey Bell of Victoria Corner, Lorinda Hachey of Burtts Corner, and Kara (Troy) Nicholson of Keswick Ridge; grandchildren, Joshua Brewer, Jacob (Kira Janes) Brewer, Allyson (Matthew Madore) Brewer, Michael Johnson, Kruz (Paris Lamoreau) Bell, Riley Nicholson, Avery Nicholson; brother, Donald Hachey (Gail); sisters, Jeannette Bourque (Roger), and Sylvia Stewart (Toni).
Norman was well known in the community for his exceptional customer service, work ethic, easy smile, and kind and gentle demeanor through his 23 years as Front End Manager at the Victory Meat Market, followed by his 20 years as owner/operator at Norms Butcher Block.
Some of Norman’s passions in life were fly fishing, bowling and in earlier years playing basketball when his knees allowed. His biggest love, without a doubt, was for his family and friends. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather...an adored uncle, cousin, brother, son…and his legacy will live forever in our hearts ♥
The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of York Care. Not only did they care for Norm as one of their own they became great friends to our family.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 1 PM with Father Bill Brennan officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick or York Care Foundation in Norm’s name. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
