My condolences to Connie's family on her passing. I only met Connie in June 2023 when she was at the DECH at the same time as my dad. Connie never liked to stay in her room. She wanted to be out near the nurse's station where all the action was. The nurses would let her sit there and they would give her papers to sort through or a coloring book. I felt like that was such a thoughtful gesture. She would walk around and talk to everyone and I loved to chat with her. The day I was taking my dad home She came over when I was getting him settled into the wheelchair and asked me if I needed any help. Such a sweet hearted lady. I just wanted to hug her. I told my dad that I wanted to volunteer at the hospital to spend time with people like Connie. To sit and chat with or colour, do puzzles, etc. She was such a gem. May she rest in peace.
