Obituary of Ivan Edward Jones

The passing of Ivan Edward Jones of Keswick Ridge, NB, husband of Jean Frances (Dunphy) Jones, occurred on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on January 7, 1939 in Upper Keswick, NB,  he was the son of the late Elmer and Kathleen (Brewer) Jones. Ivan worked for the New Brunswick Department of Transportation for 38 years. An avid fisherman who was successful catching salmon out of the Miramichi and Keswick rivers, He was also a member of the Mobile Sportsman Club in Ludlow, NB. 

Besides his loving wife of 66 years, Ivan is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Thebeau (Pierre), Shelly Hanson (James) and Stacey Reeves (Mark); son, Timothy Jones; grandchildren, Carla Nikli, Nicholas Thebeau, Jody Hanson, Joshua E. Reeves, Joshua M. Reeves, Jason Reeves, Nakitia Rayner, Jezziah Reeves and Brooklyn Reeves; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Rowena Scott; sister-in-law, Mary Jones; brother-in-law, Alonzo Dunphy (Gayle); and many nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Ivan is predeceased by his sisters, Iona Morehouse, Jean Wilson, Avis Williams and Brenda Moore; brother, Garnet Jones; granddaughter, Amy Horton; and grandson Joseph Reeves. 

A family graveside service will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery, Burtt's Corner, NB on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 2pm with Pastor Mark Reeves officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Burtts Corner Christian Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
