The passing of Shirley Ernestine Nason of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Sidney Nason, occurred on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at York Care Centre. Born on November 13, 1929 in Keswick Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Effie (MacLean) Pickard. Shirley was retired from Canada Post. She was a member of the Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church, St. John Ambulance and a Volunteer at York Care Center.
Shirley is survived by her son, Bob McKinney (Joan) of Calgary, AB; daughter, Mary Williams (Gloria Mitchell) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, David Williams, Matt McKinney, Robyn McKinney and Tina Cirone; great grandchildren, Maddy Williams and Anthony O'Donnell; nieces and nephews; second daughter, Debbie Carpenter. She was predeceased by her sisters, Vera McKinney, Beryl Tayor and Irene Kimble; son, Brain Nason.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 2 pm with Pastor Normand McDonald officiating. Interment will take place in the Sunny Bank Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to York Care Center for their care and attention to their mother. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
