Fred, your way of teaching economics was one that made my final year a lasting memory. Our paths crossed a few times after graduation from FHS and you always had a few stories from the past to tell. RIP Fred

I remember my first Crown Reserve trip to Stoney Brook on the NW Miramichi with Fred. Many stories and laughs. This helped plant the seed in the early days of my passion for salmon fishing. Sorry for your loss Carolyn and Rest in piece Fred.

I knew Fred from teaching me at FHS in 1966,I think it was his first year teaching. We got along very well, especially when I found out he was a fisherman from the Miramichi. When I worked at the Riverview Arms around 1975-1980,Fred would stop in occasionally on a Friday after teaching and it was very common for his former students to sit and talk with Fred. When I was supply teaching at FHS we came to know each other a little better. Last year I spent two hours at Fred's camp on the Miramichi talking about the good old days. My condolences to the family! Peter D. Clark

If this is the Fred Arnold who taught Economics at FHS you have lost a great man. I worked in the office at FHS for 9 years so got to know him and the other teachers quite well. He was a well mannered, friendly man who brought me fiddle heads in the spring. Funny the things you remember. Please accept my sincere condolences and know Fred was well liked and respected by many.

Carolyn, Allan, Donna, Eddie, we were saddened to hear of Freddie's passing. We have fond childhood memories of Feddie and his siblings growing up in the community.
Always enjoyed skating on the boggen under the hill, or collecting apples from the orchard without getting caught. Freddie loved to chat and he always had time to reminisce and catch up on all the news. Our sincere condolences to all the family. Our prayers for comfort and peace during your time of loss. Lyman and Dawn

Dear Carolyn. Sincere sympathy on your loss. You and Freddie were great neighbours of mine for over 30 years. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. When I got wood from him he didn’t only deliver it but you both came and helped rank it up. When my driveway was plowed in the winter if he didn’t think it was just right he came and “fixed” it. He will be missed.
Take care. God Bless.

Carolyn, please accept my Deepest Condolences. I have many fond memories of Freddie. Recently, I met one of his former students at work. She had nothing but very high praise of Freddie as her teacher. Please take care and know you are in my thoughts.

Carolyn, I'm thinking back to the late 60s and the many hands of bridge we played on your kitchen table and the many salmon fishing adventures Fred and I shared. Good memories. I wish you God's peace and comfort in the days to come.
